Overview Company

Kraban Support Foundation is a civil society organization dedicated to eradicating rural poverty through community education, economic empowerment, environment and biodiversity value chain development, data for development planning, paralegal and ADR services, research and consultancy services.  We deeply share a philosophy of commitment to help fight poverty by facilitating improved quality of human life in the communities we operate in Ghana. We do this by rendering efficient and effective humanity services that improve the livelihoods of clients in our target communities. Our mission is to develop innovative strategies and programmes that enhance the capacity and productivity of hardworking youths in our target deprived communities.

KSF was incorporated in 1997 and registered as G1632.  It has been accredited by the Department of Social Welfare as an NGO with number DSW 1085 and renews its mandate annually. However, the Companies Act of 2019 (Act 992) requires the institution to upgrade to Non-for-Profit (NPO) under the NPO Secretariat of the Department of Social Welfare.

KSF is affiliated with other networks including GHASSFIN, GMEF, Ghana Philanthropy Forum, CSO Forum, GHAMFIN, Paralegal and ADR Network,, GAPVOD, and GHANET.

The organization has a 7-member Board of Directors.

To develop innovative strategies that enhances the capacity of hardworking youths to operate independently and effectively in the informal sectors of the Ghanaian economy.

Our vision is to develop a strategy for the poor in response to social and market demands focusing on gender equality. Kraban Support Foundation expects to be the civil society organization in Ghana.

  • To collaborate with other institutions to plan, design, implement and manage educational programmes such as rural health and sanitation improvement, water and waste management and environmental awareness creation.
  • To re-direct financial resources to organized community groups who have not generally had access to organized credit by linking them with already established rural and micro finance institutions.
  • To promote the use of fair-credit as a tool for human development to help improve upon the qualities and methods used in their indigenous techniques of production and small enterprises.
  • To build capacity in Community Project Management based on a participatory civic engagement methodology called TEACH.
  • To sensitize self-propelling learner groups and equip them with functional literacy skills.
